JCE Editor - Styles

Hello,

I have created a Joomla theme using Themler (online) and have uploaded it to my site. I use JCE Editor as my default Joomla editor and . while creating content I am not seeing any Style options that should be available.

Previously whenever I developed using Artisteer templates I would simply highlight a word or section that I wanted to Style and choose a style from JCE's drop down box showing all of my templates styles (eg; Buttons).

Do I need to configure JCE to see the templates CSS styles? Or do I need to do something to the template to tell JCE Editor what styles are available?

Thanks,
Brian

Hello Brian,
I tested the JCE editor (default settings) with Joomla 3.3 and Themler theme. Please check the screenshot

I successfully selected different styles for different paragraphs using 'Paragraphs' and 'Styles' lists. Please make a couple of screenshots which demonstrate what style you're trying to apply. And attach your Themler theme here.

Regards,
Aileen

==================RESOLVED=================

Thanks for checking on this issue Aileen. I could see your JCE looked to be working and I could see all of the Style options available to me if I switched to the TinyMCE Editor so I focused on my JCE configuration.

I found that the "Compress CSS" option in JCE's Global Settings to be at issue. If I disabled the CSS compression then the Style options worked.

Thanks,
Brian

I see this problem on one of my themes.
In JCE I have set (in global config):
Reset editor styling - NO
Editor Styles - Template CSS
Editor class - don't know what this should be!!

And from above, Compress CSS - NO

Any ideas?

Hi,

In JCE Editor, I have the problem that there is no background-color defined in the body tag of editor.css.
In my style settings I have the color white for the fonts and black for the backround. When I edit editor.css manually with:
body {background-color: black;}, I see a black background in the JCE Editor. Right the way I want.
But after updating the template, my modifications are gone.

So it would be nice if there is a possibility to make settings of the editor.css in Themler, so you can save it in the template.

Regards,
Remko

Hello Remko,
the latest Themler themes include the ability of editing content directly in Themler. It means that all articles content is stored as shortcodes with specific options. Joomla JCE Editor does not work with Themler shortcodes, thus articles are displayed as text source without any styling in Joomla admin back end. That's OK.
So we'd recommend that you edit articles content in Themler if you'd like to see styling at the moment you edit.

regards,
Aileen

@ info2088 ,
what you see as article content now is exact;y what I described in the post http://answers.themler.com/answers/70457
it is not a problem. It is the way how Themler theme is built.

Aileen
