Multiple Wordpress CMS instances

Hi folks,

We build a number of different WordPress sites for customers at the same time. Themler is great for building a website, but we've found when trying to build a second site, it still only has the ONE CMS install to base things from.

Where I'm specifically talking about is the Widgets etc. We create a site for a client, everything is completed, we export and it goes live. Great. Happy client. When we want to now work on a new site, I can't find a way to "reset" wordpress to a base install, removing the custom widgets that were defined for Client 1.

How do others approach building multiple sites (on the desktop version) so that you can work on multiple layouts? I must be doing something wrong, but I can't find a way of creating a 100% new instance for Client #2.

Hi,

Just simply start a new theme. Pres the New Theme button on the start up screen of the desktop version.

Sincerely,
Hella

Yup - tried that, actually the first thing I tried.

Once I click the new theme, it still uses the data that was inserted into the Widget Area of the previous design. The menu gets set to the default, but the custom CSS, the images in widgets, content in widgets etc - that all remains as it did in the old design.

Any other thoughts?

I would also like to know this,

As using one instance of local-host WordPress still contains the pages from the previous project. I would love to know the best procedure for building multiple sites, I have a need to flick from one project to another.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can build one project, export it with the editor and content. Then you can remove the WP folder in the Themler installation and on the next application launch the new clean site will be created. You then create new site, export it with the content and editor. And repeat this step with each site. Then you can import one of those sites in the clean install to continue the development.

One more option. You create a site, then you rename the WP folder in the Themler installation to some different name and on the next launch the new clean site will be created. Once you need to continue to work with the first site, then rename the first folder to wordpress.

I suggest to also back up all the themes to avoid any unexpected break downs during folder renaming.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hello,

Please try the following
1. Make sure to enable cookies in Safari browser.
2. Please try to open Themler through a browser using this link
http://127.0.0.1:29958/themler_2207491387/startup/

Try different browsers like Safari, Firefox, Chrome and to export. Please let us know the result.

As a temporary solution, you may copy the theme manually from the folder with themes. Please click Go >> Go to Folder >> type ~/Library and ENTER >> Themler >> hd_data >> cms >> choose CMS and access the themes folder, copy the theme, zip it and install on your hosted website.

Sincerely,
Nettie,

Hi,

Unfortunately we still do not completely understand why this issue happens on Mac OS, but our developers will look into the problem further. For now please consider using that workaround.

Sincerely,
Hella
