  1. Can you explain sections a little further? Should we use sections vs using columns and rows? What are the benefits?

  2. When I insert a section on my home page and try to access that section from within Wordpress it is not visible. It was visible the first time I added text.. now I can't access it.

I think it would be helpful to explain container, box, column/rows, and sections... The best layout suggested...

Also, sheet and CMS Code.. A guide on layout and structure would be awesome.. I hate making assumptions about the program.

Hello Lorelei,
the Section is in fact part of a page. It is a kind of container control which may include any other controls like Row with Columns, Text, Images, Sliders, CMS related controls, etc. Page may be built from sections, they like bricks in constructor which are used to build page or its part. Partly Sections are covered in news section
http://answers.themler.com/articles/27482/themler-v-90-update-17-sep-2015
and you may also refer to video
http://answers.themler.com/articles/19315/creating-a-row-section-with-two-containers

Find all sections at http://templates.themler.com/Themes/Index?perPage=50&sorter=Newest&Search.Key=&Search.Theme=False&Search.Section=True&Search.Themler=False&Search.Artisteer=False&Search.Cms=&Search.ShowFree=False&Search.ShowPaid=False&Search.CategoryID=

The main advantage of ready to use Sections is that they makes page building really easy.

2.the Section is not CMS specific control and it cannot be seen in CMS admin back end. However Section (as any other container) may include CMS controls like WP Widget Area. on WP admin back end you may add any widget to new created widget area, for example.

Other controls are described in Doc section

Aileen

Excellent information.. when I add a section and build it with columns and rows for a particular page it changes every page... What is the best method if I want different column and rows for each page?

Actually after the update if I make a change to any page it changes them all... we use to have the ability to make the pages different.. when I load it up in WP the pages I have using shortcodes are not showing up.. the default page settings are showing up instead.

Ok so let me explain a little more..

When I have Posts > Post Content then my pages show up in WP view.

When I go back to Themler and try to sections OR add columns / rows to the Post Content area it does NOT allow me to add them.. I have to go into WP and use Shortcodes to get my content in the columns expected... which makes is difficult to add styling...

Seems if I insert a section it should be for that page specifically and not globally to all pages. Or if I add rows/columns...

What am I missing here? Sections are global not page specific?

Hi,

Please note that Themler does not edit content now (this option will be available in the future). So when you insert the section on the Page template, it appears on all the pages that do use the Page template. You also can not insert them in the Content area as it only displays the content added within the CMS. So to add different sections to different pages you will need to create custom templates and assign them to the different pages in your CMS. Also note that the section content can be edited only within Themler as they are not the part of the content that can be edited within the CMS.

Hi,

To get different look for the pages you can insert different content from the CMS admin panel or create different templates.

Sincerely,
Hella

A section is a larger container that helps group related content together. It can be used to divide your webpage into distinct parts or sections, such as header, main content, footer, etc. geometry dash lite
