Can someone point me to a video for help or an explanation for why after setting up a 4-column layout in desktop and laptop view doesn't automatically re-format into a 2-column grid in tablet view like it did in Artisteer? I'm having to create new layouts for tablet and phone viewports from scratch (2-col on tablet, 1-col on phone). While I appreciate the flexibility on these layouts, I don't think this shouldn't happen. Am I missing something?

Hello Natalie,
the Themler themes are responsive and number of columns should be adjusted automatically. However if you added HTML Table then number of columns would be the same on all devices.
Please provide link that demonstrates the issue.

regards,
Aileen

Hi Aileen,

I think that's why. I added custom html because I'm new to Themler and it's hard to figure out why I can't make text into a table or list, etc. without adding html. I am looking for a good sample site build video tut that will help me with figuring out what's where. The site is not live anywhere, just on my desktop so I can't provide a link. Once I get it where I want it, I'll put it on a secure space, but so far, so good, as clumsy as the process is.

Hello Natalie,
I'd recommend that you consider using Row with Columns control instead of HTML Table.

You may find this control almost in all Themler themes, e.g.

Oh, I'm not using tables for the columns. I was only mentioning the items in "Styles" that I don't know how to add to the theme without coding them as html. I am using columns in the grid (see image) but in the tablet view, it wasn't reconfiguring into a two column format.

Let me explain. I have a section with a nested container, then nested 6 rows with four columns in each row. When I clicked on tablet view, I expected to see what I set up in 4-columns (on desktop) to automatically present itself as 2-col layout, but it didn't. I had to set up new rows and columns, and set the rows and columns on the desktop to visible only in desktop and laptop view. And set the new layout in tablet view to only be visible on tablets. I'm confused about what I'm doing here. Is it because I didn't do something in the right order? Sorry. This is my first theme.

Hi,

You can set the specific width for the column in each responsive mode. For that open the row options in the left panel, navigate to the Columns tab and there you will see the column width settings for each responsive mode. Please have a look to the screen shot:

columns-responsive.png

So if using 4 column layout set the column width to 6 for the desktops and laptops and then set 12 for the tablets and phones. That should be done for each column settings.

Please let us know if that is what you wanted.

Sincerely,
Hella
