Hi

I have enabled Google's Captcha-recaptcha plugin on my site. I am use the standard "Contact" page that comes with the initial theme template.

After setting everything up I realised that I would need to add the Captcha code to the Contact page, so I added

<div class="g-recaptcha" data-sitekey="secretkey........"></div>

But this did not seem to work.

Is there another approach that I need to take?

Demo contact forms dont have necessary PHP code for forms to function right. So your Captcha code wont work either. Install some form plugin.

If I understood you right.

Hello Andre,
are you using this plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-captcha
?
Have you tried to add shortcode as described at https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-captcha/installation/
?

regards,
Aileen

Hi, I am using the Joomla plugin

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/joomla-3/recaptcha-setup

But this only appears to work with Joomla registration form. Is there another approach that I can use with the default contact form that is in the template?

Hello Andre,
in fact the Contacts form in default Joomle theme is not a real form, it's rather demo of form style, then real form. It does not submit anything and it is even not HTML form. Captcha plugin won't work with it.
I'd recommend that you use Joomla forms, which are fully functional forms.

Aileen

:) Aaagh I just presumed it was some addon to the template like the scroller. Didn't even think to test it :)

Thanks for that info
