How to make horizontal sections with each its own content?

Hi Themler support!

I am struggling with making horizontal sections with each its own content and color (see enclosed image for reference), can you please tell me how?. I guess I can do it in the Themler designer, making the content in here and making a separate template for every Wordpress page, but then it is static locked in the theme. But, is this the (only) way to do it?

Hope you understand my question.

Thanks,
Jan

Hi,

You can achieve the different content in sections you can insert the WP Widget Areas controls in the sections so the content will differ from page to page. But the styles will be the same on all the pages. In case of different styles for each page, you will indeed need to create a new template for each page.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi,

That works...

So I need to make a different style for each page, if I want unik content on each page.

Before jumping to it, making 30 pages with 30 different templates, I have to ask: is this a proper way to do this, will it be stable/functional?

Thanks again,
Jan

Hi,

Actually the proper way to work with the content is from the WP admin panel and not as creating the separate template within Themler. But if you want to use sections, then maybe it will be the only way. Maybe it will be better to copy the section code into the WP posts and also copy the style code to the template, but it may be a bit complicated.

Maybe you will review your design a bit to see if you indeed need 30 one page design templates.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi,

Thank you for an honest answer :-)

The 30 pages/templates was just to set things in perspective :-)

As you know, many websites today are made up of lots of sections with different color, sizes and content per page, mayby a trend, but the clients ask for it! So I have to accommodate this and find the best way to do it. I will try you suggestions out and see if its something I can live with.

Thank you,
Jan

HI. I am working with this problem now I think.
I have used themler to lay out a home page with sections which have columns but I would like to make the content editable from within Joomla (for content editors)
So, let's say I have inserted a section from the library, it has 4 columns showing images and headings and text - all very pretty and laid out beautifully. The images are all cropped to the right size an the text all lines up - beautiful.
Now, how do i make the content variable?
I have tried inserting joomla positions but the images are not controlled by themler so the layout is different. Also, I can't see how to use the Billion digital pictures that come with the library theme, in a joomla module I create so the content can be variable. Is this the correct way to use the system? - the way your designers have envisioned the use of stock sections?

Hi,

The sections can be used as the static content (that cannot be edited from the CMS back end) and the dynamic content of the article. But when you add the content into the article from Themler (like adding the section), then it is converted into the shortcodes and from the CMS admin panel it will be visible as the shortcode. You can edit it but need to have some skills in editing the shortcodes.

If you need the content to be editable from the site back end without shortcodes, you need to add that content manually from the CMS back end. As for using modules to display the content, you can do that, but you cannot add the controls inside Themler editor into the module positions. When you add images into the position from the site admin, then in Themler you can define the style of the images in that particular position. For that open that Joomla Module Position options >> Content >> More Styles >> Image Styles.

Sincerely,
Hella
