Responsive submenus do not open on click in joomla

I have the latest version on Themler and responsive menus do not open the submenu on click. The menus work fine on other devices.

Changing the submenu to expanded works, but this creates a very sloppy menu if the menu is large.

I have read that this was fixed, but is appears to still not work

Hi,

I can not reproduce the problem on my end. When you use On Click option it may require double click for the menu item to open. Let us know if it works on the second click.

Sincerely,
Hella

It looks like the menu is actually behind the content so it does not work. I reverted back to the previous version and it works

I have this issue too. Try to set a higher Z-index or any to the menu and it will open over the content.

You're right — the responsive submenu issue has been reported by several users, even on the latest version of Themler. While changing the submenu to “expanded” is a temporary workaround, it’s not ideal for larger menus, as you noted.

This https://hamiltondrainage.co.nz/ behavior was marked as fixed in earlier updates, but it seems it may still persist under certain conditions or devices. We recommend:

Clearing your browser and site cache to ensure changes take effect.

Testing the menu on multiple screen sizes to confirm if the issue is device-specific.

As a workaround, consider using a custom script or editing the CSS/JS to force submenu behavior on mobile click.

We hope a proper fix is released soon. If you'd like, I can help you apply a code-based solution for smoother mobile menu interaction.
