Vertical menu items not working when child pages exist

Am experiencing this issue myself. Has the fix not been applied for 16 months?!!!!

Its now March 2017!

If you click on 'Communication Support Services' nothing happens, it should be a category blog

If you right click on the link and say open in new tab or copy and paste it into a new tab it shows the page.

This is only happening with menu items that have a sub menu item. If I unpublish the sub menu item 'Daisy' from 'Communication Support Services' the 'Communication Support Services' link works.

The link 'Community Access Service' service for example works fine because it does not have any sub menu items.

Try to switch off all the plug-ins you have on the site. If that does not help, please create a new private ticket with the access to the site back end.

Ive turned all plugins off and it has not corrected the issue. I have noticed that when editing the template I can get to the page using ctrl + click menu item and it shows the correct blog page but it wont work on the live site.

Deleting the menu on the joomla's control panel and rebuilding the menu again solves the problem.

We fixed this issue a long time ago. In Desktop mode with fly-put subitems parent item is clickable and works ok. If you have any problems with Vertical menu please create a new private topic and attach the theme that demonstrates the issue.

This is so not true. I thought it was something that just would never be possible - or I was missing something.
And, perhaps, it's never going to work in the off-canvas menu.

I have tried everything I could imagine and can NOT get anything but the child menu items to work in the off-canvas menu. So, I keep trying to figure out a way to have a minimal list of top-level items only. There "must" be a setting that allows parent items to link. I thought this was part of the mega-menu issue.

I'm glad I finally found this thread to see others have the same problem - I thought it was me. And yes. I've been revisiting the issue for years.

Tell me. IS there a solution for the off-canvas menu to have parent and sub-menu items link?
