Hi

I'm using Themler for a static html site. I want to use some external scripts so I can create a random image and a slideshow. I need to create a folder to do this.

I'm aware that if I create a folder, it will disappear once Themler refreshes content unless I write protect the folder. Thi sis referenced elsewhere in the forum.

I think this is a bug - you should be able to use external scripts etc. without having to write protect anything. It would be nice not to have to worry about this.

Many thanks, David

P.S. I must say that the support I am getting is excellent

Hello David,
the described behavior is not a bug but behavior by design.
I'd recommend that you load external files using Additional CSS, Additional Head HTML, CMS Code under Settings section.

regards,
Aileen

Hi Aileen

I'm doing that but I need to create some folders that my code needs. I've been getting around it by putting 4 lots of folders (one in each of the four save locations under themes) and write protecting them. If I then close down and re-start Themler, it comes up with an error message but does keep the folders when it re-builds the site.

It works but it is a bit messy. I was hoping there was a better way to do this or are you saying that if a folder is referenced in code anywhere within Themler, it will keep the folders?

Many thanks, David

Hi,

Yes, if files are referenced within the code added in any way described by Aileen, then those references will remain after saving the template.

Sincerely,
Hella

OK, I'm pretty sure that they were but I'll keep an eye on any other external calls I make to other folders.

Many thanks, David

Hi,

Sorry that we can not help you about that. Maybe something will be changed in the future.

Sincerely,
Hella
