Magento Newsletter and other components

With a default page view you get things like, compare, newsletter etc,

I would like to move parts of those functionalities to the footer or to different locations.

How do you this? Do I have to edit the template files for that?

Basicly I am very close to the design my customer wants in magento, but I need to move those elements around in the design.

Could you please provide a little guidance?

Also can you add widgets to templates?

I am fairly new also to magento, so forgive me if these are novice questions.

Hello

Unfortunately the position of the blocks is hardcoded. You can't move them in Themler. The only way is to edit theme manually. There are a lot of documentations on how to move Magento blocks.
But please note that theme files will be updated each time you edit theme in Themler.
