Adding a Sidebar into Content & Sidebars

Well over a week of learning Themla for Joomla. A difficult transition but am near to making a standard template that will replace Artisteer templates.
I wanted to make a complete template from scratch to prove I understood stuff. My current best candidate has four 'Sidebars" under the Content & Sidebars body of the template. It evolved from a downloaded template.
I did a new install today and that helped with some stability issues and gave me the opportunity to open a blank template.
This template has just two 'Sidebars' under the Content & Sidebars title. I just want to add some more to build the core of the template.
[1] How do I add more Sidebars into my template?
Also while we are asking,
[2] Is there any tricks to getting the same formatting under Content &Sidebars on all the templates?
A major issue in me trying to build a standard template for Joomla has been keeping the four templates looking the same because the sidebars seem to be independently formatted on a per template basis, so keeping say "Blog" and "Default" templates. There was a suggestion that they were the same on all templates but this is clearly not the same.

Hello Steve,
1. the Sidebars are special shared areas which could be enabled/disabled on template. This article explains how to handle with it
http://answers.themler.com/articles/9037/sidebars
Now the UI is different, but the idea is the same.

2.the style of Sidebars as well as any shared area is the same on all templates. For example if Left Sidebar has blue background color on the Page Template, it has the same background on the Blog Template.
If it works in different way for you please provide access to your Joomla admin back end so we could check your theme in Themler and let us know what exactly you'd like to look the same on different templates.

regards,
Aileen
