    get-beta.png

  2. Click "Save Profile".

  3. Restart Themler and click "New Updates Available" option to get the latest update:

Finally an way to use otherways very unusefull Desktop Themler. I will check it and use it. But I have feeling I will spend more time figuring what is changed/new than to make whole new theme.

I seee now it is connected to whole profile. Can you move this option to our local stuff, to decide it from case to case ?
I will try to mark this option and update Desktop themes then disable it. Will see how it goes.

Hello.

On what features / fixes you work now? What's new we can expect in future updates?
What's priority you have chosen: Template Editing or Content Editing ?

Will be nice to see a little roadmap :)

I’ve only done manual template design to date and I’m on my 2nd full template design. The first template I completed was pre Themler UI update (80 hours of learning Themler by fire), and the template I'm working on now now is with the latest Themler beta. We need more responsive menu controls at top in the hmenu area. The options in the hmenu responsive area are limited to ‘button’ and ‘hover’. In that responsive area going to ‘hover’ then ‘more options’ then choosing from that panels drop down menu’s hierarchy list and selecting ‘active’, then editing those settings, has no effect on the template's responsive menu CSS values. It’s like those settings are there to change but dead.

it´s interessting, but not good solution.
Better would be, that I can use a BETA on my laptop and the "regular" version on my PC.
So for testing i go on my laptop, but when working I can go to my destop PC.

Why not like this? Dont wont to activate it for my whole account - just for the version on the laptop...
there should be an option to activate a installation... :(

otherwise - it makes no sense...

Brilliant idea!
When you work on your desktop PC, simply disable "Get Beta Updates" option in your profile and then start Themler.

It would be nice to to have a get started guide video tutorial with someone narrating it, which is not at warp speed.

Hi,

In general, This BETA is something like pre-update. There were a few problems, which appear only production server. Therefore we decided to create this BETA to test such problems and allow customers to test the next update before update, to test the fixed for issues which they reported. In most of cases BETA becomes stable update within a few days if there were no major problems.

We have a lot of plans :)
As I remember, you're interested in Template Editing, right?
We plan to include the following features in one of the future major updates:
- default styles for selects, radio buttons and checkboxes
- icon for menu item with subitems only.
- switch to 12 bootstrap columns layout instead of current 24 columns.
- support dynamic url for Social icons control
- and some other features.
We're also working on Sections(Presets) for Blog.

In parallel we're working on creating more Sections and Pages and trying to simplify the work with Sections and Pages.

Thank you,
Olivia

This is a UI suggestion which I mentioned this in another comment in a beta thread, but maybe better to put here. When you click in a value box to get cursor active inside of it to change a value, in the process of removing my hand from the mouse to type, I always move my mouse just a little bit too far which makes the value box no longer active (cursor goes away). Problematic for me, I like to work fast and that always slows me down a bit. Please increase the distance the mouse is allowed outside of the active value area if you can, or set is so the mouse distance doesn’t affect whether your cursor goes away.

Another suggestion that I know has been mentioned elsewhere, please include some brief beta notes. Even today there is an update available but I’m apprehensive to install it because I know ZERO about what’s been changed. I think providing a few notes about beta releases is important to us end users.

Your latest 2 updates (190 and 193 I believe) have some problem. On first refresh/reload (F5) left sidebar will not open. it opens just when you click small arrow somewhere to open right sidebar.
So Users not knowing how to open it could have problems using Themler.

Later when working and changing templates all is normal.

I have one question and it is very crucial.

  • We activate Beta testing option.
  • We update theme to latest Beta version.
  • You get feedback and find many bugs and problems.
  • You change a lot inside this specific version.

Does it mean we will never again get red circle to upade with new code just because our version is already as it is ?
It is very important to know how did you plan for this.

Hi Shawn,

Here is a preliminary list.
We plan to publish this beta in the next few days.
Please let us know if you face any issues with the current Beta.

Stagger Lee,

Your latest 2 updates (190 and 193 I believe) have some problem. On first refresh/reload (F5) left sidebar will not open. it opens just when you click small arrow somewhere to open right sidebar.

I've failed to reproduce this issue on my side,
Could you please create a short video that demonstrates the issue?

It is very important to know how did you plan for this.

For example:

  • You created a theme on Themler v.178.
  • You activated Beta updates and updated your theme to v.193. The update process created a backup. So you have two themes: theme v.193 and theme_bkp v.178
  • You found and reported a bug with v.193 beta update.
  • We fixed this bug and updated Beta version, to, let's say v.200.
  • You will see the "Update" icon and you will be able to update theme v.193 to the new Beta version.
The important thing is that if you disable "Get Beta updates" you will not be able to open the updated theme. You cannot downgrade the theme. You can only update it.
In this case you will need to use a backup of the theme.
  • Then we release v.200 as public.
  • If you have Get Beta updates option enabled you will not see the "Update" button for the theme updated with beta because it's already updated.
But you will see this icon if we update beta one more time just before release and Themler will be released as v.201 when your theme is saved with v.200. And next time you will see the icon for updated theme when a new beta update (for example, v.250) will be available.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Olivia
