Hi everyone!

Interested in trying Themler pre-release Beta?
Now you can help us to make the next releases of Themler even better by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think.

How to participate?

  1. Access your profile and enable "Get Beta Updates" option:

    get-beta.png

  2. Click "Save Profile".

  3. Restart Themler and click "New Updates Available" option to get the latest update:
    update-themler.png

Now you can start testing pre-release Themler update.
NOTE: The updated theme will not be compatible with current Themler Stable. Therefore please keep the backup to be able to get back to the Themler Stable.
To get back to Stable release simply disable "Get Beta Updates" option in your profile and use theme backup.

Please let us know about any issues that you encounter with pre-release update.

Thank you,
Themler Team

Aha OK. So you never patch Beta version with old version number. You add allways new number. Then it is more than OK.

Hello, I would be happy to do this but not for production sites. Can you offer a way to turn this on for only some sites. Possibly in the Joomla backend for the template?

Or possibly show a "beta" indicator next to the update so it can be ignored.

I updated a couple sites to a beta not realizing I had this on and have a few new issues. Testing sites or non critical sites are fine for me to try beta versions.

Thanks

So long I have not seen problems with Beta versions. Not in theme functionality anyway. Some options start to make problems maybe, but they can be reached from different ways, so not big problem there.

But I do agree it Beta testing should (Must) be an option on theme to theme basis. I can fix any problem no matter how tight deadline for website is, if nothing manually in code. Can only imagine what chaos would be for some beginner User, activating Beta versions, Beta version make fatal PHP error, and client want to see website tomorrow or tonight online, as agreeded.

Some projects has to be put outside Beta testing. I know it is very easy to go to profile and disable Beta testing when updating specific themes. But it is very easy to forget about it too. And never know if you have problem with theme because of Beta or stable version.

I lake your proposal to have 2 circle buttons in top bar, one for stable update, second for Beta update. One red, second with some other color. With different text on mouseover.

What did you do now ? Whole time was enough to transfer theme folder and preview folder to right place on server and it was all. Now WordPress doesnt recognize preview folder as theme and there is no Themler admin menu button.

If you changed something bring it back, Stupid to go via all those ZIP steps just to upload Theme with Themler editing part.

I did theme isntalaltion with ZIP with Themler edit support and same problem. No Themler menu link no Theme options link.

Did you made some memory check ? I need many of those Theme options but seems they are connected to Themler editing part somehow.

Any remote chance you can have a changelog for these beta updates for us testers to see? 3 or 4 updates have come out since the official one. Just wondering.

Same request; please provide changelog for beta updates. Preferably visible before I decide to update. You requested help for testing beta versions, but how can we help in providing feedback if we don't know what has been changed?

I know they are very bussy, but can only agree. I am just clicking update and update and have no clue what I am updating to.

Not that I live in fear, I trust them because not single one newly introduced bug ruined my theme or CMS installation, never so long. Just it would be nice to know what you are updating to.

Best solution would be as I suggested them long time ago. When clicking red circle for update small popup with bullet text and short explanation what we update to. Before we proceede.

Second problem is that you mention. If I dont know what is new and updated I cannot leave feedback if it works (I use Beta option).

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. Actually the issues may appear in any application part, so there is no need to test some specific function.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hello Stagger,

Have you seen that all templates are actually available on the top of left navigation panel, together with pages and posts?
There we've also made the more quick way to navigate to Homepage/Home template with a single Home button.

Thanks,
Leo

I know, under File tab and left sidebar. But all people develop on huge screens, plenty of place at the top.
