I have created a simple horizontal menu and set the active and passive colours. However when I save and publish, the live template menu works, but the active menu tab remains set at the HOME tab even though the page I select and is 'active' is a different page.

In other words, I cannot get the menu to display the menu tab as ACTIVE (ie with the correct colour etc) for the page that it is displaying. The Active tab always remains set on the Home page.

How can I correct this?

Many Thanks

I'm experiencing a similar issue. It happens when I open a menu link in a new tab. Not sure if it's related to your issue, but it sounds like it could be. When you open a horizontal or vertical menu in a new tab, the original window navigation keeps that link highlighted as if it's active. Also, opening up a menu item in a new tab, in the fist tab it will keep the correct menu highlighted as active as well as the one you opened in a new tab. So 2 menu items are highlighted as active on the original page. It's definitely an issue that needs fixed. +1

SOLVED

I have located the solution to the problem. I had inadvertantly set the menu module to a specific
page, within the base item selector; namely my home page. This caused my home page to display
no matter which active page I was actually on.

To fix this I went to:
Modules
Select the offending Menu
See the Module Tab
Go to the BASE ITEM
Select Current in the drop-down selector

By selecting 'Current' in the BASE ITEM drop-down selector within the Module, the menu
item automatically sets the display to the 'live' tab or selected page...
