Joomla 3.4.8

I have a CustomHTML module in a position just above content. All it holds is 3 links horizontally that I have applied the bd-button class to. If I reduce the screen size to below about laptop size it totally disappears. If I check page source the code's still there, but the module is invisible. I thought I may have inserted bootstrap code in the module to not display it - no. Module position, column, row in Themler - all set to display all.
Secondly, there's no way to edit Joomla articles in the frontend. Edit icons appear for modules (NOT wanted), but not edit icon for articles.
EDIT: Just checked on another site I have a Themler template on, and it has the same missing edit icon issue. This is a major issue!!
