Working with Joomla, I cannot get the header to fit to the header containing it. There is a left paddig that I cannot remove.

It looks like there is no extra left padding in the Header, it look like it is already set correctly: it may have been because of Header length being set to Sheet Width while Container length set to Full Background.
Do you mean the menu not fitting the Container?

Umm, maybe I've sent the wrong file.
I now that if I change the margin I can make it fit, but It should be done by default, not by me fiddling with the margin values.
I attach the template that should show the displaced menu.

The problem is in the Sheet Width extension added to the menu in combination with the margin values. So remove the Sheet Width extension and set the width parameter to 100% of the container width. That will make the desired layout.
