Hello,

I can't run Themler under wine, I can't understand which additional components are required to be installed.

One more question. Are you planning a native Linux version?

Hi!

For this you need to install apache, php, mysql appropriate to CMS you planning to use with Themler and the CMS (see supported CMS list on Themler site).
Then you will be able to download Themler and install it like template.

We are not providing Linux version of Themler desktop because usually Linux users are enough experienced to install CMS and Themler backend by themselves. It is almost impossible to create all-in-one installation compatible with all or most popular Linux versions because of many differences of these versions.

Thanks

Thank you for your answer, so do I understand correctly that your desktop version is just LAMP stack+CMS+Plugin and nothing more? I am an enough experienced user and I could only suspect this when I looked at the file system structure that running under wine installer created, you should probably crearly write what is inside the desktop installer. I thought that is is a desktop application like Artisteer was.

Hi,

That is an application but Themler needs to have a site to work on (it works with the live content) and that's why install the local server to run the Themler editor on that local site. Artisteer was only creating a theme with no connection to the site.

Sincerely,
Hella

So do you have a zip of the required files for me to install on my linux desktop LAMP system?

Hello Guy Ross,
LAMP installation is enough. There's no need to install anything else to start with Themler.
Let us know if you have additional questions.

regards,
Aileen

Hi Aileen

Thank you for your reply

Yes I know LAMP is enough, but what I am saying is...

Lets say I have a laptop with a fully functioning Ubuntu LAMP system running my Joomla site off-line successfully

Surely I need to install certain Themler files into a site just like I would install Wordpress or Joomla itself in order to use the "Themler" designer

So in other words, currently I edit my Themler templates from within my on-line Joomla sites and it jumps off to your on-line version of Themler

To do this off-line I would need to have a copy of Themler installed on my local web server (on the laptop). I assumed this is what the Windows WAMP installation does? So Dont I need a zip of the Themler project to install on my ready made linux we server?

Hi,

In short, Themler is linked to the theme. At some point Themler is a partially a part of the theme and partially Themler is located on our server. Browser caches Themler control to improve the speed but you still need internet connection to work with Themler locally.

So, you simply need to download your existing Themler theme with Themler and install in on your local Joomla:

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Olivia

on linux I have installed a local server with wordpress using the packaged applications of bitnami. I exported the theme with the themler engine inside from windows and installed it on the Linux Desktop system, inside bitnami and from that moment I threw Windows in the garbage.

But you who make themler, software that runs on a lamp server ... It doesn't cost you anything to make a package similar to bitnami, which installs on any Linux system without problems. It's ridiculous to make a program that runs on Linux lamp and distribute it only for Windows ... saying that you can't make a package that can be installed on all flavors of Linux, because that's not true, bitnami is the example, copied from them.
