Responsive Layout Grid Settings not adjusting correctly

Hi,

After starting on a design, I needed to adjust the "Layout Grid" Settings to what I consider the more "modern" resolution of devices being used now!

All the responsive layouts worked/displayed fine in Themler (desktop), the correct amount of columns, correctly positioned etc. until I did the adjustments, then after the changes the Laptop & Phone layouts disappeared partly of to the right-hand side? (see screen shots).

I'm trying to achieve the following Portrait resolution ranges:
Phones: 320 to 736px
Tablets: 800 to 1280px
Laptops: 1281 to 1366
Desktps: 1367px upwards-

Have I forgotten to do something, calculated wrong, any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

So the logic is that desktop view will work when the screen resolution is 1200px or higher. You set the width of the grid to be 1367px. that means that on the screens with width 1200px the content will go out of the screen.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi Hella,

What your telling me is that the responsive screen sizes are "hard coded" into Themler and adjusting the "layout Grid" setting is the wrong place to do it!

Where then, for example, can I change the responsive resolution size settings for each platform?

Hi Aileen

Thank you for your answer but I think your misunderstanding my question. I understod before that the grid layout size can be adjusted under Home>>Settings, but thats got nothing to do with the whole Responsive Screen Size!

What I'm asking is where can the Responsive Screen Sizes be adjusted, for example where can I set when the whole layout changes from Tablet to Phone ?

Thanks
David C

Hello David,
in fact the layout should be adapted for any screen size. On the screens with width less than 750px the Phone mode is used, starting from 751px screen width the Tablet mode is applied, Etc.

Aileen

Ok, thanks Aileen,

So what your saying is its fixed at 750px or less for the Phone mode, I can't myself change it anywhere in Themler to another px value, For Example, to change to a Phone mode at 736px or less instead of 750px, if I wanted to?

Hi,

Yes, that is nor possible. Those are the standard values and there is no place in Themler to change them.

Hella

I changed the settings for responsive on phones and I do not know how to get back the old values. The phone responsive settings should be 758px and below but right now the setting is 200px or above. How do I undo the change?

Hi,

Sorry, the issue is not quite clear. Change that 200px value to the desired one. What is the issue about that?

Sincerely,
Hella

I agree this is a serious problem. Almost all laptops now are 1366px. Almost all desktops are 1600px.

We need to be able to change the breakpoints for the responsive settings.

Hello Jeffrey,
I'm sorry but the question is not quite clear for me. If you may change the screen size specific for Tablets and Phones does it resolves the issue?

regards,
Aileen

From the generated css:

@media (max-width: 1199px) { ..... }

What if I want that width breakpoint to be 1365px instead of 1199px?

Why can't we change the screen resolutions which define how big a "desktop" is?

Hello Jeffrey,
if I set

DesktopL.png

I get the same value in CSS

@media (min-width: 1200px) {
  .container {
    width: 1365px;
  }
}

Aileen,

I think Jeffrey is asking the same type of question I asked a while back. He wants to (As I want to do) be able to change the point (depending on the screen size) when layout changes between different platforms (he calls it the "Breakpoint") it's got nothing to do with the Layout Grid (although, most proberly, that would have to be adjusted according afterwards). To that question earlier you answered that it could not be done, at present, in Themler.

Hi,

Unfortunately breakpoints cannot be changed. You can only control the width of the layout container for the specified screen resolution.

Thank you,
Olivia

Yes, I understand that. Consider this me seconding the request for a future feature.

In the meantime, I can manually edit the generated CSS as needed.
