When I use a plugin to rename the links and old references after I move a website from its temporal subdomain to the definite one, the links from within "themler" are not changed... Is there anyway to do that within themler without having to go one by one and change them?

Sorry the delay but it was the Holly Week around here, no work for 11 days...

The Plugins are "Better Search Replace" and "Search & Replace" and the webpage is fritzpopartgallery.com the problem is at the slider and it didn't change the links to those images.

I moved the temporal new design from a subdomain to the root domain, same server. I searched to relace only the "subdomain" for "www".

I need to change those links today and I'm doing it by hand, I'll wait a bit this morning for you to check but maybe it'll be changed already.

Thanks

I use this script. Never fails.
Themler doesnt have absolute links, so it means those plugins cannot replace all in database.

I see now you are talking about sliders URLs, not slider images.

What are those links in sliders ?

I just made a test and all is OK, no need to change anything in URL paths.

Do not make mistake checking links in Themler Preview browser mode. (Icon at top bar). Those links are allways wrong and it is by design.

I am curious now. Changed how. How was it before, and to what you changed. Give one example.

Direct links to each slider image were not renamed so I did it manually inside themler.

Still dont understand. I never had such problems, no matter Themler verision.

Those images are inside CSS as relative links.

And made one test with custom external links, because I dont understand if you have problem with images URL, or images linking URL.

It is the same, simple external URL in templates, Themler doesnt add or remove anything.

I am interrested in this because I might have problems on my websites with sliders without even beeing aware of it.
So long I tested and Themler doesnt influence those paths, URLs. No need to convert anything when moving to other server.

Just asking politely one example:

  • One URL how it looks when wrong (wrong one) ?
  • One URL how you would like it to be (right one) ?

New.domain.com/etc/PIC.jpg changed to www.domain.com/etc/pic.com. for each slider image...

I selected to change all in the db and it didn't changed that.

2 plugins used, didn't make the trick. I'm not a coder and I have no idea about how this works under the hood, I'm a WYSIWYG designer.

That's all I know and can tell you.

Hope that helps you.

pic.jpg to pic.com !?? (typo probably)

There is no need to do it for slider images. Nothing is inside database, and all slider links are relative, not absolute.
If I am wrong, will leave space for it, then I have some nasty and hidden problem in all my websites.

Did you adapt your .htaccess to new domain name ? Refreshed Permalinks in WP settings (Save) ?

Here is is the whole story mate...

Designed new website in a temporary subdomain, (new.mycompanydomain.com), migrated the website to the definitive domain (www.clientsdomain.com) within my shared server, changed the URL's at WP settings first, copied all folders to the domain folder and voilá! as I use custom links sometimes I need to rename those but it didn't work out with the sliders to change its name from "new.mycompanydomain.com/whatever/." to "www.clientsdomain.com/whatever/.".

That's all.
