How does Themler manage metadata?

Hi, I have created a Word Press theme on Themler and for each of the pages of my Website I have assigned a template (within the same Themler project). Each of these templates have some main contents such as titles, heading, text and images that serve as an introduction to the page.

I use Yoast SEO plugin and I notice that when I go to input some keywords and/or meta-description for each of the website’s pages, the plugin does not see any of the material I insert on the page in Themler (text, heading, images, etc).

From the plugin I get a bad SEO score as it tells me things like that I do not have any written parts on my page or that keywords are not included in titles or heading, etc. Now the material, as I said, is all there on the page but it looks like that Yoast does not see any of it… I get Yoast to see stuff only if I edit the page within WordPress by adding heading or text, but the problem is that all the main titles and text (introductions to pages) I input them as I was designing in Themler.

Is this a problem with the WordPress SEO plugin or is this normal? How does Themler handle metadata? Is there anything from within Themler that I have to do to specify keywords and meta-descriptions? I understand that Themler is primarily a template designing tool, but what good is if it allows me to add text and headings if then I cannot optimized my SEO by using them?

Hi,

You can add any meta tags to Head. Go to Home tab on Ribbon > Settings. Add tags you need to 'Additional HEAD HTML' field on right panel.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

Thank you for answering,

Is there a specific reason why a SEO wordpress plugin such as Yoast does not see the written content that I created within Themler?

Hi,

Unfortunately we do not know how this plug-in works.
Additional HEAD HTML is just an area where you can add regular html tags into the HEAD area. That's all.

Thank you,
Olivia

"Unfortunately we do not know how this plug-in works."

I think that since Yoast is used very much it is strange that you have no clue how it works. It should be of a high interest that sites made with Themler has a good quality of SEO. This is the most frustrating part of Themler. I want to offer my custumers high quality SEO but I think Themler is way behind here.

Hi,

We can not guarantee the compatibility with all the third-party extensions. As far as I know, Yoast does not recognize shortcodes used in the content edited in Themler. There is nothing we can do about that.

Sincerely,
Hella

Have any of you discovered another tool other than Yoast, to resolve this issue? I think I am stumped at the same thing as well.

I had a similar issue when I was working on a site with a Themler-designed theme. Yoast SEO wasn’t recognizing my page content either, which was frustrating because everything was clearly there. After some digging, I realized that Themler often places content in a way that Yoast can't parse properly, especially if it’s added within the template rather than directly in the WordPress editor.

One workaround that helped me was manually adding the meta descriptions and keywords directly within WordPress instead of relying on Themler. Also, making sure the content is within the actual WP page editor (not just inside Themler) improved Yoast's ability to analyze it. I ran into this issue while setting up pages related to the WGU Enrollment Portal, and adjusting things within WordPress made a huge difference in SEO readability.
