Creating design variations of one single page

Hi there,

A quick question please:

I have designed a Homepage and one other page for a website so that my client can see if it is what they are after. If they would like an alternative Homepage creating so that they can compare the two, how would I go about setting that up so that it does not interfere with the original Homepage?

The reason I ask is that after creating the original Homepage, I went to file menu and selected 'NEW', saved it under a totally different name and then started to create a new homepage design variation, but when reviewing the original Homepage, parts of it had changed to the newly created one!

Is there something else I should have done, as it would be nice to supply an alternative to the client sometimes.

Any help gratefully received.

Simply as Pages.

  • Make several pages Homepage 1, Homepage 2, Homepage 3...etc.
  • Make same amount Page templates and customize them separate.
  • Assign those Page templates to Pages.

If your changes still mix can be for following reasons:

  • You did not clicked 3 times (3 instances) per one template to Customize this style.
  • Header, Main sidebar and Footer are shared. If you want differently you need to drag out them all elements. Replace Header and Footer with row and columns.
