problem with jquery

Hi,

I have a problem with a plugin and asked the developer to have a look. He wrote me:

"your theme loads an additional (and old) version of jquery alongside the version that comes with WP.
that’s never a good idea in any case, and I suspect your problem lies there
(doing that will most likely also cause many other issues now or in the future)"

I use Themler theme TrePesciolino and asked Eugene, giving the response above. Eugene wrote back:

"TrePesciolino theme is a Themler theme. It includes jQuery version same as any Themler theme for Wordpress, e.g. like default Themler theme.

As I understand, Themler themes for Wordpress include 2 jQuery files: one from WP, second from the Theme. They both can work together in the same page, because they use jQuery.noConflict() method:
https://api.jquery.com/jquery.noconflict/

So Themler theme uses jQuery from theme, while all other scripts, e.g. from plugins, use jQuery from WP.

If you have any other questions about jQuery version in the theme, please contact Themler support. They should have more information."

I just upgraded Themler but when I click on Save and Publish I get a box with the text below and I can only click OK:

"www.deluxpizza.ch says:
sorry, error occurred, your project will be restored."

When I click OK Themler reloads.

The site is www.deluxpizza.ch

Any suggestion from your part and how do I upgrade Themler without getting that error?

I'm very sorry for delay in response.
Themler theme loads jQuery.js file which is needed to make theme working properly. In general it should not cause a problem or conflict. The error you reported

may have different reasons, but I do not think that it is caused by jquery.js file. Please provide access to your WP admin back end and we'll investigate this issue

It reminds me of the time I had to get federal documents ready for an international trip under a tight deadline. I used expedited apostille services to get a federal apostille, which proved my documents were real so another country would accept them. Just like that process, upgrading Themler seems to need careful steps and the right support to avoid errors. I might reach out to Themler support directly for a clean upgrade.
