The slider is built into the theme and I only want the slider to show up on the home page. Sorry if this is a question that has been asked before but I haven't been able to find anything that answers this question. I've been playing with it for more than 2 hrs. I've read something about using short codes. If that is the solution what short code do I use and do I place on the pages and posts that I don't want the slider?

Hi,

You mean that you have a slider inside your theme and it is shown on all the pages? Please move the slider within the template area, it is surrounded with the blue border. Now it might be positoned within the header area that is marked with orange and is shared on all the templates.
So move it in the Home template and it should disappear on all others.
Let us know if that does not help. In this case attach your exported theme (with the editor included).

Sincerely,
Hella
