Wordpress "home" vs Thelmer "home"?

I install Wordpress. Wordpress creates two pages (?) Home and sample. I install a Themler theme and activate it on my Wordpress site. Themler creates a home page (?) and pulls the Wordpress sample page into the Themler menu area.
Both are shown in the menu displayed in the Themler theme.

Here's my problem. The home page in Themler shows the content that came with the theme. The home page in Wordpress shows nothing but a blank standard issue page.

  1. Why?
  2. How do I get the home page in Themler and the home page in Wordpress to be the same page? Not a copy, the same page.

I really don't want an ugly url of My Website/home when it should be MyWebsite

In Wordpress, navigate to Settings->Reading.
Select a static page for Front page display, in your case the page Home.

This is because by default, Wordpress will output all Posts on Home. In your case you probably don't have any, so that is why it's blank.

This way you can edit the page named Home in Themler.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your advice, I found the Wordpress "home" page in trash and restored it. Then I went to Themler and see there are now 2 home pages with identical content shown in Themler and in my sites menu.

I reviewed the Wordpress menu structure and saw there were now two home pages shown. When I deleted one and rearranged the menu items order everything seems to be correct now in both my Wordpress site and what's shown in Themler.

Aileen,

The link you posted doesn't work, or is moved.

I'm having the same issue. Themler refuses to acknowledge the "posts" on the home page in WP Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays = Your latest posts.

Themler mandates that I use WP Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays = Static Page. I don't want a static page - I "want" the recent posts to appear on the home page.

WP then creates 2 "home" links.
The only way I could get it to come close to working is if I allowed the default "Hello World" post name to remain, and the link, regardless of what I name the link, takes me to "hello-world", which is what I want because posts will appear there.

If I use a static page, then the posts won't appear on the home page.

WordPress....wtf....

So what's the resolve? Themler only allows a static page to be the home page.
I "might" be able to create a work-around, but the breadcrumbs is also causing grief. There is no way to change the "Home" link in breadcrumbs to anything other than the link set in WP - Settings > General > Site URL
Even changing that won't help because it still won't effect the "Home" link in Themler.

Themler breadcrumb "Home" takes the URL from WP > Settings > General > WordPress Address (URL).
If you change the ... Site URL, that only confuses things.

WordPress allows the home page to be your recent posts. Themler does not.
This needs to be fixed.
Or, is there some "other" work-around of which I'm not aware?
I did see another post where someone was trying to show how to add some PHP to help. I "think" they were trying to say (very broken English and every time others asked for more details, the person posting the PHP help provided LESS information....) that if you add that code where the person states, then the static page will also show recent posts on the home page.
So I'm going to go back and read that encrypted post another 3 or 10 times to see if I can make sense of that.

Thanks.

Wait!
I know what's throwing me off. The post (default "Hello World" which is my only published post right now) appears, but "ONLY" the text in the post - no title, date it was created, author, and the response comment does not appear.

I'll go through Themler options to see if I can render the page as WP displays the page...

Hi,

You can add metadata controls into your Post content for the appropriate tempate inside tHemler and they they should appear on your live site. In case that does not help, please provide some more details and probably access to your site back end.

Sincerely,
Hella
