Good day all,
im a new user using themler,
i use Joomla for my websites and used to use Artisteer for the template.
I like the concept and configuration way to adjust re-design templates. but im a bit confiused to use themler.

  1. can i use themler to create new templates from scrats, if you how?
  2. can i use themler to alter templates created in artisteer en uploaded to joomla. ( i tried to upload a template, which was created in artisteer 4.3, but the "edit template" is not shown.

many thanks in advance,
Yoeri

Hello Yoeri,
I haven't used Themeler in several months so they may have addressed these issues but before you spend allot of time banging your head against a wall I would make sure a basic Themler template will work with your Joomla Components and Modules.
Over the years I have acquired a list of core components and modules that I always add to my Joomla projects in order to make Joomla more functional and secure for my clients.
- JCE Editor (Paid Version)
- Akeeba Admin Tools Pro
- Akeeba Backup Pro
- Widgetkit by YooTheme
- RSFormsPro
- aiContactSafe (Forms)

I battled several weeks with compatibility issues (Javascript and jquery errors) until I finally gave up and went back to using Artisteer. Artisteer is not the perfect solution but for now it works.

Hopefully Themeler has or will eventually address these issues and others are having better luck.

Good Luck,
Brian

Hi Yoeri,

  1. Sure, you can create new templates from scratch. Please check out our Joomla articles:
    http://answers.billiondigital.com/articles/3714/how-to-install-joomla-template
    http://answers.billiondigital.com/articles/3717/how-to-use-joomla-template

  2. Unfortunately, now you can't edit your .artx projects with Themler. But we currently work on this feature.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
Ivan

and i can start for a couple them with a brand new design.
