Hi. I developed a new theme for Wordpress using Themler for MAC. I finished it, save it, but when I try to export it as a zip (to desktop), I get "Error: Unable to Save File", so basically, I cannot install the new theme on my Wordpress website.

Also, I saw all the posts about publishing the them, but I can´t see my themes online in my Themler account. Urgent!!!!

Hello,

Currently it is not possible to save themes on Cloud. Could you please specify, if the issue happens with one theme only or with any theme, or with any theme for a specific CMS?

Sincerely,
Nettie,

I did not say I have unable to save my theme to the Cloud, I said I was unable to export (as Wordpress theme zipped) it on my computer desktop when I use a Mac. When I use the program with my Windows PC, I have no problem.

I tried to export several themes with the Mac and I could´t, every time is the same error.

Hello,

Ok, thank you for details. Could you please try saving to another location (like Desktop) and let us know if there is any difference.

Hi. I think you are not understanding me. As I said, I tried to save my zipped file TO DESKTOP using my Mac computer and I could´t. Again, when I try to export the theme to my Desktop (or to other local places like My Documents) I receive that error message everytime.

So, I´m unable to use your software with Mac, because I´m unable to export the finish theme to Wordpress. Do you have any solution?

Same for me! I can't export from PC version. It generates a .zip file but when you load it to Wordpress this is what happens.

"No se ha podido descomprimir el paquete. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature"

Tried several times with different themes and is same error.

My solution was not using it. As I always develop websites using Wordpress, now I use the Themler WP plugin and create the theme directly inside platform instead of creating it on desktop and then export it.

nes.sanctorum,

If the issue is still actual, please try temporarily disabling antivirus and firewall and also add-ons for the Safari browser on your computer and try to run Themler once again and export the theme.
As a temporary solution, you may copy the theme manually from the folder on your computer (the path is shown in the Theme Management screen after selecting some CMS, for example, for Windows version it can beC:\ProgramData\Themler\hd_data\themler_xxxxxxxxx\joomla). You can zip the theme and install on your hosted website.

Hello all my fellow MAC users, using Themler on the MAC OS and creating Wordpress themes. (Have not tried this with any other CMS's but I am guessing it should work in a similar fashion)

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to "EXPORT" the theme you have created (with the Themler desktop MAC version that you open from your Applications) to a location on your hard drive, such as your "Desktop" in zip format!!!!! The instructions may sound a bit funky and it may seem like you are chasing your tail but it works. This way you can work offline and not have to be on the live site creating your theme!!!!! And you can work without an internet connection like when you are on a plane and you have time to work unencumbered.

  1. Create your design and theme and save it.
  2. Go to "File" and then click on "CMS Admin Panel". This will open a your browser to a Wordpress admin panel. If you look in the address bar you will see the address is "http://127.0.0.1:29958/themler_"......... and a bunch more numbers and stuff , but you get the gist. The "127.0.0.1:29958" means you are running the site from an internal Apache web host built into the software. And you are not on the internet.
  3. Once you are in the Wordpress Admin panel in your browser window, you will see the "Themler" menu item. Click on it. This will open a window that is identical to what you see in the desktop version!!!! (This is why I mentioned the tail chasing thing. You may think "WHAT THE F!!!" Like I did, but trust me this works with no error).
  4. Click on the "Export" icon or use any of the menu items that you are use to using to export. There are many places with in the software where you can invoke the "Export" feature.
  5. Your BROWSER will then open a pop up window "EXPORT THEME" (Just like the desktop software does). Fill in the appropriate info and click the "OK" button.
  6. After a few seconds (depending on how fast your MAC is) of the software doing it's thing in the back ground you will receive another window asking you where to save the zip file. (unless you have your browser set to auto save stuff to a certain place) hit the "OK" button after you have chosen where to save it. And VIOLA!!!!! You have a zipped file you can upload to your favorite website.

It appears that the desktop application MAC version does not invoke the internal Apache software and browser functions when you click on the "Export" feature. Hence why you have to open the "CMS Admin Panel" and "Themler" menu items in steps 2 and 3 before you can download a proper zip file with out the error code.

Hope all this has helped!

Thanks you very much AvCompInc!! I will try it. But still is a shame that a company like this one does not take this issue seriously and fix it in a next / quick update of their software. Especially because I´m not using (as several of us) a free version of it. Thanks again community!
