I would like to create a page template in Themler that I could show recent blogs from certain categories on it.
Anyone know can that be done?

What content you are talking about? You can add any static content in Themler to the specific template.

List limit is done in WP settings, but it is global.

THemler allows to output page content of selected page. The rest WP data could be displayed on the same page with the help of widgets. There's standard WP widget "Latest Posts", but it does not allow to specify category. If you find a widget which allows to output what you want it solves the problem.
