Social icons - open in new window _blank

the social icons has no "target" option.
The links associated with Social Icons are opened in new browser tab by default

I didnt think to test it before I emailed for help. I just expected to see a target.

And now that I have tested it I see they are SHARING icons, rather than normal links to an actual social media profile.

Is there anyway to change that so clicking on the icon takes you to
https://www.facebook.com/helpmecounselling/
rather than
https://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fhelpmecounselling%2F

Hello Leora,
Currently the Social Icons control does not allow to specify URL without sharing. If you want to specify static URL without sharing functionality consider using the Image control instead

What a useless feature.. it's not social icons.. it's social sharing!
All I want is my facebook page to open in a new window, but it's impossible..

It's not a useless feature. In face it quite clever. A fast way to add icons for people to share pages.

If you want to have a link to your PAGE to open in a new window, then use the control:
Insert > Icon

Hm I think I have to agree with Manet20000ro - the social share is not as desirable as it is to take them to your Facebook page not to share your website. As in my client's case. Would be nice for any links offsite to be able to be targeted to a new window _blank so they do not get taken off your site. If you do insert an Icon then you can link it offsite but we could not find anywhere you could target it to a _blank window. It would be really nice if you could be consistent in how things are done - as it is you find the options in a different place! Takes so much of the designer's time to figure out where to make the same edit you did on another page in a different section. No consistency.

In the Icon control options in the input where you insert the link you can press the hyperlink option on the right and there will be an option to set target to _blank.
