Hi Support,

I'm creating a theme for WordPress. I want to change the position of a Primary Widget Area (Sidebar) from left to right.
I'm trying to drag and drop it, however, it's not quite clear to me how to do it so that it was in the right column, not in the left.
When I try to do it like this:

alt text

It's getting placed where the content area is, and the content area goes to the bottom of the page.

When I try another position, everything looks unclear:

alt text

There an empty left column, headline of the article "Hello world!" without article content and only the Primary widget area where I want it to be.

Is it a bug or I'm missing something?

Thanks for your help.

Rory

Hi Rory!

I have managed to place the Primary Widget Area in the right column. Please have a look to the screen shot:

When you drag the column make sure that the right vertical line is highlighted so the sidebar will be placed there. In any case the left column indeed remains empty. You can right click on it and choose Remove column option from the drop-down menu. That will delete the empty space.
But I also think that it should be removed automatically when the sidebar has been taken out.

Best regards,
Hella

Hi!

The functionality to automatically delete empty column was removed from the product for quite a long time. If you've got ideas why it may be useful - please elaborate more on this topic.

Thanks.
