Controls and content disappears - very frustrated

This has got to be the most unwieldy program I've ever come across. It's taken me weeks and I'm still pulling my hair out. It shouldn't be this difficult. And please, Support, please, please, quit referring us to this article or that article. We've read the articles and they're still not clear, which is why we keep asking questions. As one other very frustrated posted wrote, can't we simply get a direct answer that ties in directly to our questions??!!

My issue:

  1. I've created several templates. No worries there. I add CMS content section and add text there. Looks great until I export my theme to Wordpress. That section suddenly disappears both in my Wordpress and my desktop Themler. If I hit the "Undo" arrow, it comes back. I tried again using just controls in both the CMS and posts section. Same thing.

What gives?
What do I need to do in order to a) get this content to "stick" and b) if it does stick, edit this content in Wordpress in simple text form without going through the lines of code?
What's the point of the controls or the CMS content section?

The only way I can get that section to stay in place is by adding it to the Template page or creating it in HTML.

Hello,
I suppose that the issue is related to static and dynamic content. Let me provide a brief explanation.
The Sections and other controls which are located directly inside Content & Sidebars (blue border) mean that these Sections are stored in theme, as part of static theme design. And they will be displayed on every page which is using current template.
The Sections and other controls which are located inside Post Content control (green border) are dynamic content of the current page. And this Section is stored in WP post/page. This Section is not displayed on other pages.
When theme is exported without content then it includes only static content, but not dynamic content.
Thus when it is installed to other WP site that dynamic content does not exist. I suppose that happens in your case.
I hope it clarifies the issue.

If I misunderstood you please let me know.

regards,
Aileen
