Product variantions in Virtuemart don't function

In my opinion the use of product variants should be used in most of the webshops. It gives the user een feeling of being in control. e-commerce is all about psychology and this is one of these things that are tested. What other people think about it doesn't matter in this case. I would like to use it and Billion themler doesn't know how to deal with it at this moment.

  • When is use product variants the selected option should be displayed in my cart (on all instances)
  • Some product variants change the price. This doesn't happen.

I have attached some images. The one that starts with base1 use the default protostar template and the one with base2 use a billion template.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix this?

I'm also having this same issue - was there something that we can do to fix this? Im assuming the fix was already rolled out back in 2015 for this.

I found an option in Virtuemart configuration called "Use ajax for product content" and when I disabled this the variants work properly again. Unfortunate to have to disable features however to use the templates. Can anything be done or is anyone aware of another fix?

bsjelin,

I assume that you're referring to the issue with fields like "Generic Child Variant"?
Unfortunately the latest changes we made do not fix this specific issue. But our developers are aware about it and it will be fixed in the future Themler updates.

Hello Petr,
the issue is solved in the latest Themler beta update. Please open and update the theme.
In case the issue persists please submit new private topic where provide access to the Joomla admin back end and we'll check the issue.

Petr,

Are you sure that you specified proper layout position of custom field? Themler Product Variation control has "layout position" field. It should match with layout position specified under the custom field configuration. Otherwise the custom field will not be visible.

Oh thanks, in my case it was the solution I needed to show the correct prices in the variants with child products.
