Hi,

On the top the Posts, Pages, Store drop down menus give you access to the posts, pages and the store pages of your site correspondingly.
Sections and Outline tabs. Sections show the current page structure visually as seen on the screen shot. The Outline option will show the structure of the same page but in the tree view with the all nested controls to see the structure better.
Below you have the sections of the page. The Header area shows the header sections. It is marked with orange. Below are the current template sections marked with blue. Also there is a blue plus sign that allows you to add another section in that blue area. Below there is an empty green area with the same plus sign to add the section into the green content area. And the last one is orange Footer. Let me now explain the difference between the colors used to mark those areas.
Orange is used to mark the areas that are shared between all the templates of your theme. Those are Header, Footer and Sidebars. The Blue area includes the content of the concrete template you are working on. For example it is the Page template and when you add the sections inside the blue area of that template, they will appear on all the pages of your site that are using the Page template. The Green area is the area of the content of the concrete post or page. When you add the content inside the green area, that will be the unique content of that particular page, like the content of the post you add from the CMS admin panel.

Please let me know if you need any other help on this matter.

Sincerely,
Hella
