max mega menu or quad menu causes critical errors

Hello,

I desperately try to add a mega menu (with text and pictures) to my theme which is not possible with themler. every attempt to use a third party menu causes critical errors - some with memory size some with php.
does anybody has similar problems? which plugin works to do the job?

asap would be much helpful! sigh ...
