Hi,

I do not understand you completely. You want to use the vertical menu designed in Themler instead of your horizontal menu? Please attach a screen shot of what you are trying to achieve.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi,

You can find the example of the vertical menu under the Styles tab. Also I see that you are using the old Themler version, you can update to use more options.
Also it is still not clear from your screen shot what you are trying to achieve.
Here is the information about the vertical menu for WP:

i still dont get it... all i want is to create a simple vertical menu

your styles tb shows attributes you can change on vertical menus and your link gives an outline of how to add a vertical menu widget to the primary widget area... all you can do here is change a title... but how do you then add menu options..and pages... this menu appears nowhere in the backend

i created this then switched back to themler... i cannot find THEME > THEMLER OR APPEARANCE > THEMES to customize anywhere ... see screenshot

Hella

i think my confusion is what do you do once you have added a vertical menu to the primary widget area...

how do i add menu items to this?
then switch to themler ...
do you then go to styles tab and assign vertical menu... how do you do that exactly?
then go to back end wp... appearance>theme ...
if i click on customize on the active menu it switches to themler...

i simply dont get it... can you give me a step by step instruction please

Hi,

Themler theme provides Vertical Menu widget for WP (WP Appearance >> Widgets). This widget creates a menu that uses Themler Vertical Menu style (Styles tab).

wp-vmenu.png

As you can see this widget uses different sources including custom menu (WP Appearance >> Menus).

All you need is:

  1. Stylize vmenu under the Styles tab
  2. Enable sidebar with widget area or add WP widget area control to any place on the template
  3. Put vmenu widget into this area in WP Appearance >> Widgets.

That's all.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Olivia

Hi,

Ok.
We have: WordPress, two WP Pages. You want to show the links to these pages on the front end as Vertical Menu. And you have default Themler theme.
What you need? You need widget and you need a place where this widget will be outputted - a widget area. Themler provides Vertical Menu widget.
Next question is "where you want the vertical menu to appear?".
Let's consider the most common situation - you want to have a column (Sidebar) to the left/right of the Content area on all pages.

  1. go to Themler
  2. since we need a column (Sidebar) on all pages we need Themler Sidebars - shared areas used to share content between templates.
    So, enable Left Sidebar:
    enable-left-sidebar.png

As you can see, by default, Left Sidebar includes Primary Widget area control.
Right Sidebar includes Secondary Widget area control.
  3. On this stage all you need is already done. Save changes and go to WP admin panel >> Appearance >> Widgets and put Vertical Menu widget into the Primary Widget area.
  4. Go back to Themler and refresh content:
    refresh-content-2.png

You will see Vertical Menu in Themler.
That's all.

Please keep us posted about the progress.

Thank you,
Olivia
