i followed the procedure to create a custom page template...
http://answers.themler.com/articles/10804/how-to-create-and-use-custom-templates

but i realized that the main template (from where i made the copy) also changed with the same modifications that applied to the new one...

what is the purpose of the custom template?? is it a bug?

Hi,

You can click on the control in the new template, you can see the Customize Template Styles option in the left panel (the blue text), press it and the control in the new template will be customized separately from the initial one. Let us know if you have any other problems.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi
After clicking on the Customize Template Style button on "Page" option, does this allow full changes like different or no menu blocks etc, or is it limited to background and basic tag styles? I am refering to use within Wordpress if that matters.
I.e. so some pages will have the main menu as per default page and landing pages (custom template in theme) have the menu removed?
Sincerely
D

Hi,

The Page tab is related to the template background only.
You can move the Menu control outside the Header control (the Header control is shared on all templates so it is showing everywhere) and then you can Copy and then Past with Share the Menu only to the desired templates so others will be without menu.
So basically all the elements you style and edit are changing on the particular template only. Except the shared controls marked with the orange border and those you have shared manually. Originally those are Header, Footer and Sidebars and all their content.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hello, I am struggling with this. I cannot get the new template to have different styles like header fonts. I created a new default template style and followed the instructions but your instructions do not have this step in them. https://answers.themler.io/articles/10804/how-to-create-and-use-custom-templates

Now I cannot find the option in the template to set this for this template style. Any changes I make style the default template as well. The instructions are for a very old version of Themler where the controls were on the side.

Thank you

So what I am trying to do is set different heading fonts vs the rest of the site. The Design tab seems to be a global setting and I cannot find a way to style only the new default template's headings to a different font.

Can a template style have completely different heading fonts than the rest of the site? A new default template style?
